Kathleen ‘Kick’ Kennedy marrying William ‘Billy’ John Robert Cavendish, Marquess of Hartington, on 6th May 1944 at Chelsea Town Hall. Her eldest brother, second from right, U.S Navy Lt. Joseph P. Kennedy Jr gave her away.
My username actually relates to Kick - it was how mother Rose described her, ‘the busiest cup of tea’.

Miss you, Tedward. A televised joint session of Congress isn’t the same without random close ups of you rolling your eyes. :(

They both adopted that dachshund hound together and named him Dunker.

  10. I love hearing that they were extremely good friends the rest of their lives; both always had beautiful things to say about one another.
Here’s a letter Jackie wrote to Teddy after daughter Caroline’s wedding. During an interview later in his life, a reporter read that same letter to him and asked what his feelings were. Tears were in his eyes and he quietly said, “it doesn’t get much nicer than that.”

A cliche picture, but I love it all the same.
The Kennedys after World War II, one of the first casual portraits of the family after the death of eldest child Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. (Rosemary and Kathleen are noticeably absent in the picture, as well).
From left to right: JFK, Patricia, Rose, Joseph Sr., Jean, Bobby, Eunice, and a teenage Teddy.

“The Living Doll. As Teddy put on the pressure, his campaign scenes became kaleidoscopic. At a textile machinery plant in Worcester, Teddy moved eagerly through the din and the smell of hot metal to shake the hands of the men in the foundry. One man gestured that his hand was too greasy to shake. “Gimme that, buddy!” cried Kennedy, slamming his own big hand into the worker’s. Then he strode on, his hand black with grease below his neat, white cuff.”

The potential narrative in this picture is so beautiful, I can’t even.
He looks so embarrassed to be seen with such an inarticulate and simple d-bag <3
