While Teddy and Jackie are probably my favorite inter-Kennedy friendship to read about, another underrated but lovely pair of good friends were Teddy and Ethel, even long before tragedy struck multiple times throughout their lives. A touching gesture at Teddy’s funeral in 2009 was as the casket was being carried out of the cathedral with cloth draped over the front of it by various male family members, Ethel began to immediately smooth out all minor and unnecessary creases like a concerned mother as everyone was walking it out.
