“It’s not ‘Jackie’, or Jacqueline, it’s Mrs. Kennedy. Although the one thing I do not want to be called is First Lady. It sounds like a saddle horse.”

The Kennedys were so famous even before the White House and the Great Campaign of 1960 that thousands of beautiful, posed pictures of them exist well into general childhood - and even then, there are plenty of colored film reels that capture them in all their athletic and joyous splendor. It’s always a joy that new findings are always in a neverending supply.
However, my favorite pictures are the ones of a similar nature to those posted above. Calm, candid, private, and thoughtful. These pictures move me and give me more insight into their real personalities then any half baked biography or documentary ever can. This is them at their most vulnerable and unposessed. The solitude of these pictures at Jackie and Jack’s wedding are unspeakably beautiful. I especially like the one (left) where the Mr. and Mrs are peaking through the blinds of the Hammersmith Farm at their wedding reception to see the guests that are arriving.

Watching Jack hurl himself into shot over and over made my week. Maybe month.

STUNNING.
